Lyrics of the day
Ive witnessed those one night stands
Must have played in a thousand bands
But Im just here tonight, tomorrow Ill be gone
Seen folks show their blacker sides
Seen them die just for foolish pride
And those drivers always ask to hear that same old song
Thats a big ten-four
From your back door
Just put that hammer down
This young man feels
Those eighteen wheels
That keep turning round to take me down to shaky town
Ive heard all those hard luck tales
From all of you u.s. males
Ive heard you tell those lies about the love youve known
And Ive followed those highway signs
And Ive run down those thin white lines
Like those drivers this old road is all I call my own
Thats a big ten-four
From your back door
Just put that hammer down
This young man feels
Those eighteen wheels
That keep turning round to take me down to shaky town
All the way down to shaky town
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Shaky Town"
Artist: Jackson Browne
Album: Running On Empty
Year: 1977
My favorite thing about this song is pretending that Jackson sings "easy town" instead of "shaky town". It's definitely a trip. It's got a funky beat. And you can BUG OUT to it.
A look ahead
Hey first of all, let me just say that the early responses on the Jackson Browne episode have been off the hook! Your support is beyond awesome. Thanks to everyone who's been listening in and enjoying the show :)
A look ahead:
Coming soon on Easytown Radio we'll be saluting Bob Seger, who's been riding high on the Billboard charts this week at #4 with his new album "Face The Promise". We'll spin choice cuts from his monumental "Live Bullet" LP, which was recorded in 1976 and went platinum five times. Let's boogie!
Up next after that, it's our William Shatner episode! We'll be unveiling our new sci-fi comedy series, Fucked In Space!
Stick around, and thanks again for your listenership!
Yours,
~Tim Easy
